If you’ve received a notice that your commissions have been temporarily paused, don’t worry, this simply means that we’ve noticed some inactivity in your course forums or project comments, and we’d love to see you reconnect with your students.
Below you’ll find everything you need to know to reactivate your commissions and keep your classroom active.
Below you’ll find everything you need to know to reactivate your commissions and keep your classroom active.
📌 Why commissions can be paused
At Domestika, commissions are directly linked to your active participation in the course community.
Your presence in the forum makes a big difference for students, it helps them stay motivated and ensures they receive feedback. For this reason, we periodically review teacher activity to make sure each classroom stays alive and engaged.
📌 Commissions may be paused if:
- You haven’t interacted with your students (in the forum or course comments) for the last 90 days.
- You haven’t replied to final projects or student questions.
Note: Likes, private messages, or “Welcome” comments on presentation threads don’t count as active participation.
📌 What counts as active participation
To maintain active commissions, we look for continuous involvement in your classroom.
You’re considered active if you meet the following criteria:
- You reply to at least 25% of the student comments or final projects received in the last 90 days.
- You host Live sessions related to your course (if you are interested in learning more or scheduling your Domestika Live session(s), please contact us at tams@domestika.org)
If there’s little student activity, simply checking in occasionally and replying to any new comment or project that appears will keep your participation active.
📌 How reactivation works
Your commissions will be automatically reactivated once you maintain active participation for 90 consecutive days after the pause date.
You don’t need to contact support or request a manual review, our system tracks your participation automatically.
📌 Here’s what happens step by step:
- Commission pause → You’ll see in you Admin a message like:
“We’ve temporarily paused your commissions due to inactivity.” - Reactivate participation → Start replying to comments or projects in your course forum.
- 90-day tracking period → The system counts from your first new interaction.
- Automatic reactivation → Once you’ve met the criteria for 90 days, commissions resume from that day forward. The reactivation is not retroactive.
📌 Important details
- Commission pauses are applied per course, not globally.
- If you have several courses, only the inactive ones are affected.
- This policy doesn’t apply to:
- Teachers with Live sessions.
- Teachers with Live sessions.
Note:
If your course is part of a Specialization or a Guided Course, you may still see commission from these courses in your Admin.
However, if your commissions are currently paused, those amounts will not be paid. Once your commissions are reactivated, payments will resume from that date onward, and no retroactive amounts will be issued.
Example:
1) You stopped interacting in your course forum on January 1.
2) On April 1, commissions were paused due to 90 days of inactivity.
3) You reply to new comments on April 10.
4) If you remain active from that date, your commissions will be reactivated automatically on July 9 (90 days later).
